How to Restore Jailbroken iPhone

I have my iPhone 4 jailbroken. But I realized that it’s not a good idea to jailbreak it since things did not go as well as I planned. I downloaded some apps after jail-breaking but made the iPhone unstable. I want to give up the jailbreak now. Does anybody know how to remove jailbreak from iPhone 4? Please give me some help, I want my iPhone to be back to its unjailbroken state. Thank you!

What is a jailbroken iPhone? Jail-breaking is removing Apple’s restriction on iOS device. How to Reset an iPhone to Factory Settings via iTunes

I will show you how to restore iPhone back to it’s factory settings via iTunes with a few simple steps.

1. You should make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. If not, do the update before moving forward.

2. Disable Find My iPhone on the iPhone if you have enabled it. Go to SettingsiCloud – Tab the Find My iPhone toggle to turn off.

3. Run iTunes on your computer and connect your iPhone to it. Then iTunes will detect your iPhone display an iPhone icon on the top right corner. If iTunes won’t recognize your iPhone, force it into recovery mode by pressing the Power button and Home button together until the connect to iTunes screen appears on the iPhone screen.

4. Click on the iPhone icon and navigate to Summary section. And then click on the Restore iPhone button on the right main pane.

5. You will be prompted to back up your iPhone or not. I suggest you better not to backup jailbroken iPhone via iTunes because if you’re making a warranty claim from Apple store it’s possible for Apple to tell that your iPhone was jailbroken once some evidence of the jailbreak has been copied back to the freshly restored iPhone. So it’s important to back up your iPhone before jail-breaking your iPhone and please click Don’t Back Up.

6. iTunes will ask you if you are sure to restore the iPhone to its factory settings. Select Restore and Update on the prompt window.

7. Once the restoring process is complete, leave the iPhone connected until it is activated. Then you can set up as an new iPhone or restore from previous backup on iTunes.
