Can I unlock my iPhone if I forgot the passcode?

Can I recover my forgotten passcode instead of removing it?

No. Passcodes cannot be recovered. Removal is the only option. After removal, you can set a new passcode.
How do I turn off the lock screen completely?

Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcode) and turn it off. But keeping a passcode is safer for your personal data.
Can I remove Apple ID without knowing the screen passcode?
